Curriculum

The Curriculum at a glance:

  • At least one University Semester abroad at one of the Top Management Schools
  • One blocked seminar at the very beginning of the CEMS Programme (one week course by interdisciplinary, interuniversity teacher teams, either at the home school or abroad)
  • At least 4 Skill Seminars days (practical skills trainings like communication, teamwork and presentation with a focus on international management)
  • Business Project (solve a real business problem as a one-term part-time activity tutored by a corporate partner and a professor)
  • International Internship (minimum 10 weeks internship abroad - an intercultural quality experience)
  • Advanced courses (bridge university education and company activity)
  • Fluency in three languages (mother tongue, English and one other European language)

What are the benefits of doing a CEMS Master in International Management? What makes CEMS special?

Graduates of the Master's Program in International Management/CEMS are extremely well-qualified for a professional career in a culturally diverse environment. What makes our program unique is the joint offer of our MSc in International Management (WU) along with CEMS MIM into one two year program. Why did you choose the CEMS Master in International Management?

The CEMS program represents the capstone of my education in International Business Administration. As an International Master degree, CEMS facilitates the process of applying for jobs and internships in countries other than Austria, which do not have a program similar to our four-year diploma-studies. Adding this 5th year of education to my curriculum eases the transferability of academic records to other educational systems. Moreover, four distinct components made me choose the CEMS Master: foreign language exposure, cultural sensitivity, a pan-European network of fellow students and contact to a large variety of corporate partners.

Why did you choose the CEMS Master in International Management?

Some of my friends were doing CEMS before me and I only heard positive things from them. What interested me most is that the program is so international: studying a year with students from different countries, doing another exchange semester and also an internship abroad. I didn't want to graduate yet and go to work for the rest of my life, so CEMS was also a good idea to stay in the relaxed studying life a bit longer. And since I had the opportunity at my home university, Helsinki School of Economics, to apply for the program,why not?
