Building a school in Rwanda in cooperation with UNICEF!
Unfortunately, schooling is still beyond reach for millions of children in Africa. That is why we want to help these children by giving them the opportunity to have access to education and to build a brighter future. In CEMS we have the privilege to participate from lifelong learning, now we want to give to children in Africa the possibility to join the elementary education.
In Sub-Saharan Africa alone, 45 million children do not have the opportunity to receive basic education. That's half of Africa's future trapped behind an insurmountable wall of ignorance, poverty and discrimination.
This year CEMS wants to build a school in Rwanda which will cost 100.000 US$ (68.000 €). In order to be able to do so, every local CEMS Club needs to raise about 5.000€.
The CEMS contribution of approx. USD 100,000 will be used to:
- Construct a school with four classrooms
- Train teachers (workshops)
- Construct sanitation facilities and water tanks
- Develop social safety nets to provide care and support for 20% of orphans
- Support the establishment of sports through training and construction of play grounds
