Why did you choose the CEMS Master in International Management?

The CEMS program represents the capstone of my education in International Business Administration. As an International Master degree, CEMS facilitates the process of applying for jobs and internships in countries other than Austria, which do not have a program similar to our four-year diploma-studies. Adding this 5th year of education to my curriculum eases the transferability of academic records to other educational systems. Moreover, four distinct components made me choose the CEMS Master: foreign language exposure, cultural sensitivity, a pan-European network of fellow students and contact to a large variety of corporate partners.

What experiences did you get so far from the program?

What I remarked first was the well-functioning organization of the program between the various members: academic partner institutions, corporate partners, students and faculty. Especially the preparation of the exchange semester is very well structured and supports students in various ways. In terms of academia, both the blocked seminar and the regular CEMS courses display high quality but are also quite challenging regarding the workload. Since most classes have a very interactive format - featuring both group meetings and several independent assessment criteria - they are very time consuming. Moreover, a high level of performance within student body and faculty can be acknowledged. The social aspect of CEMS has been visible from day one, bringing about intercultural exchange and close bonding inside as well as outside the classroom.

Do you think that the CEMS Degree helps you on your way for finding a great job?

The CEMS master is continuously establishing itself as a “seal of quality” in the international business world. The qualities the program makes students develop and train are highly in demand nowadays: adaptability, cultural sensitivity, mobility and a broad horizon. The compulsory internship abroad as such brings students into close contact with the business world. Furthermore, CEMS already has convinced numerous companies to become a corporate partner. These firms represent the top players from almost any industry - ranging from consulting or consumer goods to financial services. The ability of CEMS students to meet the criteria these firms apply to new employees will make more and more companies recognize the Master program as a strong qualification for jobs in an international business environment.
