Michael Brehm

Dipl. Kfm. Michael Brehm, COO studiVZ

Michael Brehm is Chief Operating Officer of studiVZ Ltd.. Born in 1980, Michael went to school in Munich and, when his school years were over, took off and spent a year backpacking around the world.

After his return, he began his studies at the WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar (2001). Following periods abroad at the China Europe International Business School and the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, he returned to finish his degree at the WHU in 2005, receiving the IHK Koblenz prize for the year's best thesis.

Michael has a broad history of work experience: He set up his first company – a snowboard clothing business – whilst still at school, and has spent time with Ermgassen (London), Aventis Pharma (Shanghai), and Hyundai Motors (Santiage de Chile). Before arriving at studiVZ Ltd. Michael was working in Mergers and Acquisitions at Merrill Lynch in Frankfurt.

Nikolaus Kimla

StudiVZ is one of Europe’s largest online-networks with more than 9 million users. According to IVW StudiVZ is Germany’s most pupular website. 2007 it was acquired by „Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck“ for app. 85 Million Euro.

Mag. Nikolaus Kimla, CEO uptime Systemlösungen GmbH

Mag. Nikolaus Kimla studied in Vienna and Los Angeles and holds a diploma in Evangelical Theology. After graduating in 1994, he founded "uptime Systemlösungen" together with some friends (business: B2B System Integrator). Today uptime has more than 55 employee in Austria and the Slovakia. In 2008, Nikolaus published his new book "Die IT-Revolution: 10 Thesen für Ihren Unternehmenserfolg".

Mag. Alexander M. Swoboda, Global Equity Partners (GEP) – Associate Partner / Investment Manager

Alexander M. Swoboda

Alexander M. Swoboda is an associate partner and investment manager at Global Equity Partners, co-managing the EUR 50mn Central European Growth IV venture capital fund for Austria’s leading private equity firm Global Equity Partners with EUR 550mn under management. Prior to that he was with McKinsey and Company, advising clients on strategic and corporate finance topics in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the UK and the UAE from 1999 to 2006. Alex holds a degree in business administration from the universities of Vienna and Rotterdam.
